On Christians in Iran

The following post by HRAI is about the situation of Christians in Iran:

http://www.hra-iran.org/Arshiv_86/632.html

Prior to the horrifying details of their persecution in recent years, there are references to other minorities that face the same patterns of injustice and oppression. Increasingly, it is becoming evident that human rights abuses in Iran are not imposed by the majority over the minority. It is, in fact, a minority, who are making life nothing but living hell for majority of Iranians. But the challenge is that this majority are comprised of various minorities based on ethnicity, religion, gender, etc.

So the question remains, when will these diverse minorities unite their voices and demand accountability and responsiblity on the part of those who perpetrate such acts?

As the Persian expression goes: ‘Qatrih qatrih jam’ gardad, vangahi darya shavad’ (Dorp by drop, an ocean is made).

May we all stand together and work together to recognize each other’s humanity. After all, we are all children of the same land, the land that is home to the first charter of human rights (See: http://www.britishmuseum.org/explore/highlights/highlight_objects/me/c/cyrus_cylinder.aspx).
